Connecticut bishops back constitutional convention to address same-sex marriage issue

Reacting to a court decision ordering legal recognition for same-sex marriages in Connecticut, the state's Catholic bishops are backing a call for a constitutional convention, at which citizens could approve an amendment reversing the court's decision. Archbishop Henry Mansell of Hartford directed all pastors to insert a notice in church bulletins asking the faithful to support the drive; other dioceses are expected to follow suit.
