Vatican approves English, Spanish translations of Mass for the Care of Creation

CWN Editor's Note: The Dicastery for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments approved the English and Spanish translations of the Mass for the Care of Creation, promulgated in Latin last year.

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops published the translations on its website.

    In the old days, corporate prayer, such as prayer for the end of Communist totalitarianism, was frequent, regular, and fervently practiced by the majority of Catholics. Will this liturgical innovation reduce the frequency of corporate prayer for an end to the destruction of the natural environment caused by unjust wars, large-scale arson, pollutants of all kinds, elimination of tropical rainforests, poor city planning, failure to use technology to solve problems such as urban heat islsnds, etc.?
