Bishop opposes Belgian burqa ban

Concerned about encroachments on religious freedom, a Belgian bishop has criticized the Belgian government for moving to ban the wearing of burqas in public. “Does the state really have the right to regulate the symbols of personal beliefs?” asked Bishop Guy Harpigny of Tournai.
