Indian bishop, accused of rape, steps aside

CWN Editor's Note: The Indian Catholic bishop who has been accused of raping a nun has offered to step aside temporarily. Bishop Franco Mulakkal offered to relinquish his pastoral ministry in the Jalandar diocese while his case is investigated. The bishop said that he was making the offer voluntarily, denying that he acted under pressure from Cardinal Oswald Gracias of Mumbai.
