Indian bishop, accused of rape, steps aside

Bishop Franco Mulakkal offered to relinquish his pastoral ministry in the Jalandar diocese while his case is investigated. The bishop said that he was making the offer voluntarily, denying that he acted under pressure from Cardinal Oswald Gracias of Mumbai.
