The article evinces an ignorance of the public statements of the Catholic and Orthodox prelates across the Middle East (Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Israel, Iraq, and the Palestinian territories) from the beginning of the "Arab spring" war against governments in North Africa and the Middle East through today. The pro-Assad, pro-Russian consensus of these prelates results from actually living through the hell generated in Syrian and Iraq by Western governments and Islamic "true believers."
