US Catholic Mass attendance continues to drop, now below 40% weekly

CWN Editor's Note: Only 39% of American Catholics attend Mass on any given Sunday, a new Gallup survey shows. A decade ago that figure was 45%; in 1955 it was 75%. Protestant Americans are now more statistically likely to attend Sunday services than their Catholic counterparts.
