Bangladesh: bishops condemn terror attack, urge forgiveness
July 04, 2016
The Catholic bishops of Bangladesh have appealled for calm and forgiveness after a terrorist attack that killed at least 22 people at a bakery in Dhaka.
"We condemn the violence of terrorism that has contempt for human life, and we invite everyone to be touched and transformed by values such as mercy and forgiveness," Bishop Gervas Rozario of Rajshahi told the Fides news service. The bishops issued a reminder: "Violence in the name of religion is always wrong."
