Education minister: Calgary Catholic school directors must do their job, implement new guidelines
January 19, 2016
David Eggen, the education minister of Alberta, says that trustees of Catholic schools “need to sort themselves out” and implement new provincial policies requiring accommodation for “transgender” students.
The education minister made his comment in the wake of a public statement by Bishop Fred Henry of Calgary, who said that the new guidelines are incompatible with Catholic teaching. Eggen said that Catholic school trustees and administrators must “make sure they are doing the job that they are elected and paid to do.”

The Canadian govt says that Catholic school officials must do their job. Although a minor player, Canada endorsed the decision of the Nuremberg Nazi trials post WW2, which found that doing one's job, following orders, was no defense for capital crimes. Spose this means Canada be rewritin its history books real soon to reflect this new understanding, this new love for Nazism.

Justification? The vouchers are being used for "religious" (read Catholic) schools violating the mythical "separation of church and state!

Why are "Catholic" schools under this jurisdiction anyway? Have they made the mistake of feeding at the government trough?

It may be a novel idea in Alberta, but what prevents Catholic schools from regaining some of their autonomy by renouncing state money and generating their own support?
