Islamic State converts another Mosul church into a mosque

July 14, 2015

Another Catholic church in Mosul has been converted to a mosque by leaders of the Islamic State, the Fides news service reports.

St. Joseph's church, in the Maidan district of Mosul, has been stripped of all crosses and other Christian symbols, and the building's dome has been painted black. The building has been re-named to honor a military leader of the Islamic State, and is now open for Muslim worship.
