Catholic Recipe: Cannoli Filling
INGREDIENTS
- 1 lb. ricotta cheese
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 4 tablespoons crystallized fruit
- 6 tablespoons semi-sweet chocolate morsels
- 1 tablespoon Hershey's cocoa
- 1/4 cup chopped toasted almonds or pistachio nuts

DIRECTIONS
Filling: Using a mixer, beat cheese, sugar and vanilla until well blended. Stir in chopped fruit and chocolate morsels. Divide mixture in half. Add cocoa to one half and mix well; leave the other half plain. Fill half the shell with the chocolate mixture and half with the white mixture. Add one drop green food coloring to the finely chopped nuts. Dip each end of filled cannoli into nuts. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
