CRESCENS MATRIMONIORUM

A decree of the Sacred Congregation for the Oriental Church, on mixed marriages between Catholics and baptized Eastern Christians who are not Catholic. Along with other provisions that make it easier for such persons to marry, the Church hereby made it only a matter of liceity, not validity, for a priest (Catholic) and witnesses to be present. Moreover, a bishop can dispense even with this regulation for grave reasons (February 22, 1967).
