FRAUD

Depriving another of something to which he or she has a right. A person is defrauded either by having an object taken away or by having it withheld. Fraud implies misleading statements or deliberate perversion of the truth as a means of deprivation, which is the usual meaning in Scripture: "You must not steal nor deal deceitfully or fraudulently with your neighbor" (Leviticus 19:11).
