CWN Editor's Note: An unknown vandal, or vandals, broke into the tabernacle, desecrated the Most Blessed Sacrament, and stole the ciborium from the parish church of Santa Maria de Lagostelle in Guitiriz, in northwestern Spain.

The September 19 incident was a “direct affront to the Eucharist, the center of the faith and life of the Church, which deeply wounds the religious feelings of Catholics,” the Diocese of Mondoñedo-Ferrol said in a statement. A Mass of reparation was held on September 29.
