Pope Leo: ‘Let us not hide our faith!’
October 01, 2026
Pope Leo XIV asked Portuguese-speaking pilgrims who are present at his September 30 general audience to give public witness to their faith.
“I greet with joy all the Portuguese-speaking pilgrims, especially the new students of the Pio Brazilian College,” Pope Leo said. “Dear brothers and sisters, may the public witness of love for Jesus Christ that we saw in France be an inspiration for the whole Church. Let us not hide our faith! May the Lord bless you!”
These words of the Pontiff were omitted from the Vatican’s English translation of his remarks.
