A Dutch-born Cistercian abbess who has served as a superior of abbeys in Denmark, Germany, and Peru is being sought by Danish police for the 1993 death of a fellow nun. After an elderly nun who was suffering from dementia disturbed Mass, Sister Theresa Brenninkmeijer allegedly tied her to a chair and placed her outside. She was found dead a half hour later from exposure to the cold. Sister Brenninkmeijer then allegedly ordered her nuns to lie to police about the cause of death.
