Pennsylvania bishop bars dissident nuns from diocesan media

April 16, 2010

Bishop Lawrence Brandt of Greensburg, has barred the Sisters of St. Joseph of Baden, Pennsylvania, from advertising in the local diocesan media. The bishop explained that he was taking this action in response to the religious order's public dissent from the US bishops' stand in opposition to President Obama's health-care reform legislation.

    I have just made a comment on the NCR to the effect that I have never seen so many comments from BAD Catholics who blind themselves to the abortion provision which the Health Care bill will provide. I wonder if they will publish my comment!
