Brazilian rancher convicted in American nun’s murder

Following 15 hours of jury deliberations, a Brazilian court has convicted rancher Vitalmiro Moura for ordering the murder of Sister Dorothy Stang, an American-born nun who protected the property rights of local farmers in the Amazon basin. Vitalmiro Moura was sentenced to 30 years in prison; gunman Rayfran das Neves Sales had previously been sentenced to 28 years.
