Washington Post takes aim at Catholic hospitals

CWN Editor's Note: The Washington Post has featured a report suggesting that Catholic hospitals are creating a problem for the American health-care system, because they do not provide access to abortion.
The report opens with the inflammatory claim: “Catholic systems now control about 1 in 7 U.S. hospital beds, requiring religious doctrine to guide treatment, often to the surprise of patients.”
The Post story could be the first salvo in a campaign against hospitals administered by the Catholic Church.
