CWN Editor's Note: The Archdiocese of Washington, DC, accidentally revealed that reporters’ questions about the ban on Communion for Speaker Nancy Pelosi “will be ignored,” in an email mistakenly sent to a reporter for the Washington Examiner.
The archdiocesan email—obviously intended only for internal use—also referred to “random people” who wanted to “bring the hammer down on Pelosi.”
A spokeswoman for the archdiocese later spoke to the Examiner, saying that Cardinal Wilton Gregory would not join Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone in barring Pelosi from Communion.
