Sudan’s Christian minority shaken by coup

CWN Editor's Note: Church sources in Khartoum expressed fears as a military coup ousted the country’s transitional government—voicing concerns about the possible restoration of a dictatorship that was ended two years ago. In the immediate aftermath of the coup, the intentions of the military authorities are unclear, a source told the Fides news service. Sudan is 97% Muslim, and the influence of radical Islamic groups is growing.
