CWN Editor's Note: In 2019, Father Gerard Timoner III became the 88th Master of the Order of Preachers, the religious order founded by St. Dominic, who died in 1221.
In May, Pope Francis wrote a letter commemorating the 800th anniversary of St. Dominic’s death.
