Pope Pius XII said key to Catholic underground saving Jews

An elderly Italian priest who served as a chaplain to Mussolini’s forces during World War II has revealed that Pope Pius XII set up an underground network to rescue Jews from the Nazi Holocaust. Father Giancarlo Centioni, who is 97, said that he is the last surviving member of that network, which was developed inside Germany by Catholic activists with the Pope’s active support.

    Just a cursory reading of available material indicates that Pius XII saved thousands. Unfortunately, having controversy is more important than facts, so the press will continue their merry ways.
