Salvadoran archbishop: ‘no progress’ since 1992 peace accord

CWN Editor's Note: Archbishop José Luis Escobar Alas of San Salvador has said that the peace accords signed in 1992 to end the country’s long civil war should not be celebrated, since the conditions of the peace agreement have not been fulfilled. The archbishop said that “we do not see the actual reform that was proposed.” He criticized a lack of progress toward tax reform, education reform, and pension reform.
