CWN Editor's Note: Fra’ Marco Luzzago has been elected Lieutenant of the Grand Master of the Order of Malta, to serve a one-year term. In choosing him, the Knights of Malta declined to elect a new Grand Master to replace Fra’ Giacomo dalla Torre, who died in April. Luzzago will enjoy the same authority as a Grand Master, but his temporary status—in a post ordinarily held for life—reflects the uncertainty within the Order, which is revising its constitution at the prompting of Pope Francis.
