Science should recapture awe of creation, Pope suggests to astronomers

Meeting on October 30 with participants in an international conference on astronomy, Pope Benedict XVI said that it would be beneficial for today's world to recapture "the extraordinary wonder and amazement which characterized the great age of discovery in the 16th century." He renewed his support for an "ongoing dialogue and reflection on the complementarity of faith and reason in the service of an integral understanding of man and his place in the universe."
