Egypt granting approval to previously ‘illegal’ Christian churches

CWN Editor's Note: Egypt’s government has given legal approval to 88 Christian churches, bringing to over 1,100 the number of churches that have been approved under a 2016 law that allowed for the construction of Christian churches. Prior to the passage of that law most churches were built without legal permits, which for generations had been difficult if not impossible for Christian communities to obtain.
