Canadian diocese won't pay for accused bishop's defense

The Diocese of Antigonish, Nova Scotia, will not pay defense costs for Bishop Raymond Lahey, who faces prosecution on child-pornography charges, the administrator of that diocese has told reporters. Archbishop Anthony Mancini said that the disgraced bishop has not made a request for help with his defense. "If that request were made, it would be declined by the diocese," the archbishop said.
