CWN Editor's Note: A group of Catholic prelates, including Cardinals Raymond Burke and Janis Pujats, have issued a “declaration of truths” affirming perennial Church teachings on topics ranging from the Eucharist and marriage to the authority of tradition and the limits of inter-religious dialogue. The signatories said that they affirmed “those truths that in our days are mostly denied or disfigured,” to counteract “an almost universal doctrinal confusion and disorientation.” They said this crisis has been caused by ‘the non-compliance with the apostolic duty— as stated also by the Second Vatican Council— to ‘vigilantly ward off any errors that threaten the flock.’”
