Cardinal Kasper laments xenophobia, nationalism, ‘America first’

    Treat the causes, not the symptoms. Migration is caused by government oppression: religious, political, physical (e.g., deprivation of food, water, medicine), tribal, economic. More prosperous countries have a duty to support, not control or coerce, less prosperous countries that maintain God-given rights for their populace, that take advantage of the best that economic systems have to offer, and that unfailingly work toward the common good at all organizational levels.
