Noted Chilean priest, human-rights activist, laicized on abuse charge

CWN Editor's Note: A Catholic priest who became famous for his human-rights advocacy during the Pinochet dictatorship has been laicized because of sex-abuse charges. The sentence was imposed by the Vatican on Father Cristian Precht Banados “with no possibility of appeal.”
