CWN Editor's Note: Cardinal Ricardo Ezzati of Santiago, Chile, is facing new criticism after the release of a letter from another embattled Chilean prelate, Archbishop Alejandro Goic of Rancagua. The letter suggests that the cardinal had stalled investigation of sex-abuse complaints. The correspondence became public after a prosecutor seized records from the archdioceses of Santiago and Rancagua. Pope Francis accepted the resignation of Archbishop Goic last month; Cardinal Ezzati remains in office.
