Macedonia, Vatican strongly linked by Saints Cyril and Methodius, prime minister tells Pope

CWN Editor's Note: Prime Minister Zoran Zaev of Macedonia spoke with the Pope about interreligious tolerance and invited him to visit the nation, which declared its independence from Yugoslavia in 1991. Macedonia, a nation of 2.1 million, is 65% Orthodox and 33% Muslim. Pope St. John Paul II devoted a 1985 encyclical to Saints Cyril and Methodius, the Apostles of the Slavs.
