Kenyan cardinal ends ban on charismatic movement

After meeting with leaders of the Catholic charismatic movement and receiving assurances that they would work under the supervision of their pastors, Cardinal John Njue has ended a ban on the group's activities, which he had declared in February of this year. The cardinal had expressed concerns that the charismatic movement was losing its Catholic identity, adopting practices and beliefs of the Protestant Pentecostal movement.
