CWN Editor's Note: Pope Francis appointed a new apostolic nuncio in Georgia and named 18 members of the pre-Synodal Council of the Special Assembly of the Synod of Bishops for the Pan-Amazon Region. The pre-Synodal Council will collaborate with the General Secretariat of the Synod of Bishops in preparing for the October 2019 synod.
