I'm no expert, but all I know is that when I was preparing for a trip to China, I was warned that I'd better make sure that my health insurance would pay for any treatment while I was there. Otherwise, if I got sick or was in an accident and they didn't have their money up front, they would just let me die.

A bishop merits special respect in virtue of his office. That said, Bishop Sorondo's claim about China's leadership in social justice is, on its face, preposterous. One would like to "have a word" with him about abortion, poverty, corruption, gov't censorship, and religious persecution in China. One would like to ask him if he knows anything of Cardinal Zen's work and warnings.
