Film director Martin Scorsese will meet with Pope Francis on November 30, before the Pope’s regular public audience.

Scorsese is in Rome for a screening of his new film, Silence, based on the novel by Shusaku Endo. The film, showing the work of Jesuit missionaries in Japan under persecution during the 17th century, will be shown at the Vatican on December 1. It will open at theaters in the US later in December.
