Pope visits St. Mary Major after trip to Sweden

Pope Francis visited the Roman basilica of St. Mary Major upon his return from a two-day visit to Sweden.

Following what has become his regular practice, the Holy Father offered a prayer before the renowned icon of the Virgin Mary, Salus Populi Romani, in thanksgiving for the success of his trip. The Pope has prayed at the same Roman basilica before and after each of this travels abroad.
