Report details work of pregnancy-resource centers

October 04, 2016

A special report on pregnancy-resource centers in the CareNet network shows that the institutions served well over 330,000 people last year, and have saved more than 500,000 children from abortion in the past eight years.

(The statistics in the report include only the pregnancy-resource centers affiliated with CareNet, which is one of three major networks active in the US. Centers affiliated with Heartbeat International and Birthright, the other two networks, are not included.)

The CareNet report showed that the centers had performed more than 250,000 pregnancy tests and 124,000 ultrasound examinatinos, provided baby supplies to more than 124,000 women, and counseled nearly 600,000. The centers are operated with the help of 30,000 volunteers, and supported by more than 400,000 donors.

“The term ‘crisis pregnancy center’ has become outdated,” the CareNet report said. “Not all women who seek information about their options feel as though they are in a crisis.”
