Gabon’s bishops renew appeal for calm
September 15, 2016
As strife-torn Gambia awaits a court decision on a disputed presidential election, the nation’s bishops renewed their appeal for calm.
In their recent appeal, the bishops urged politicians to “do everything possible so that the election results are respected by all,” according to the Fides news agency. “This will prevent the outbreak of violence with loss of life and destruction of public and private goods.”
