Vatican, World Council of Churches discuss status of relations
September 14, 2016
Representatives of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity and the World Council of Churches have begun five days of meetings in Bossey, Switzerland, devoted to examining the status of their ecumenical relations.
Their joint working group, founded in 1965, is currently co-moderated by Archbishop Diarmuid Martin of Dublin and Romanian Orthodox Metropolitan Nifon of Targoviste.
Topics for discussion, according to the World Council of Churches, include migrants and refugees, justice and peace, the environment, evangelization, marriage and the family, key documents written by Pope Francis, and “finding doctrinal common ground.”
