Put people, not profits, at center of economic system: Cardinal Turkson

The world's economic systems should be designed to serve people, not profit, the newly appointed prefect of the Vatican's dicastery for Integral Human Development told participants in a conference on the economic thought of Pope Francis.

Cardinal Peter Turkson observed that the Pope has condemned an "economy of exclusion and inequality." The proper goal, he said, is an economy "in which the human being is firmly in the center, where all are included in economic social life, and where creation is cherished and protected."

    There is a mix of apples, oranges, potatoes and salami with no real clear difference and little clarity of good proposed direction that makes sense.
