Congo’s bishops threat to pull out of national dialogue

The Democratic Republic of the Congo’s bishops have threatened to pull out of a national dialogue on elections if President Joseph Kabila seeks an unconstitutional additional term.

A spokesman for the bishops told Agence France-Presse that “if they ever begin to negotiate what may look like a disguised [Kabila] mandate, we leave the dialogue.”
