Paris police arrest two after finding car filled with gas canisters near Notre Dame

September 07, 2016

Police in Paris discovered seven gas canisters in a car parked outside Notre Dame cathedral, and arrested the car's owner and another man.

The car, which had been left parked near the Seine River, was searched when bystanders noticed that its hazard lights were blinking. Police have not yet indicated why the car was abandoned.

Although the gas canisters could have been used to create an explosion, no detonation device was found in the car.
