French religious leaders seek extra government protection

French religious leaders have asked the government for increased security help in the wake of the murder of Father Jacques Hamel.

Religious officials met on July 27 with President Francois Hollande, following up on his promise to "do everything to protect our churches and our places of worship." The government has promised an increased presence of military and anti-terrorism forces.
