Chilean bishop: multinational corporations trying to influence Catholic organizations

A Chilean bishop opposed to the construction of a massive hydroelectric plant warned Catholic organizations not to accept donations from multinational corporations involved in the project.

Bishop Luis Infanti della Mora, the apostolic vicar of Aysén, said that Catholic schools and other organizations should neither “ask for nor accept financial help from companies that are serving the needs of money.” Such companies, he said, are attempting “to find legitimacy, to divide and manipulate public opinion.”
