Irish cardinal makes historic address to Anglican synod
May 11, 2009
Cardinal Sean Brady of Armagh, the Catholic Primate of All Ireland, set a historic precedent on May 10 when he attended an Anglican communion service and spoke to the general synod of the Church of Ireland. "The last millennium saw great divisions in the unity of the Church, the body of Christ," the cardinal said. "Many now dare to hope-- and I am one of them-- that this millennium will see the great healing of those wounds."
