USCCB committee chair: remember plight of refugees

June 21, 2016

Recalling that June 20 is commemorated as World Refugee Day, the chairman of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Migration urged Catholics to remember the plight of refugees.

While migrants and refugees from Syria and Central America have received much attention, “it is crucial that we not forget the millions of other refugees and displaced persons all around the world who have been forced from their homes and been placed in precarious situations,” said Auxiliary Bishop Eusebio Elizondo of Seattle.
