Do not simply reach out to the needy, but bring them Jesus, says Pope
May 10, 2016
Pope Francis met with members of the Circolo San Pietro, a Roman charitable organization, on May 9 and told them “not simply to go to encounter the neediest, but to go taking Jesus.”
“It is the ‘going’ of disciples, of friends of the Lord; it is about sharing his word, that of the Gospel, of repeating his gestures of forgiveness, of love, of gift, of not seeking one’s own prestige, but the good of others,” Pope Francis said during the audience in the Clementine Hall of the Apostolic Palace. “You have before you the example of Our Lady, to whom we pray with particular devotion in this month of May.”
