Cardinal Parolin: fertility research center is ‘synthesis of truth and love’

April 07, 2016

Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican’s Secretary of State, visited the International Scientific Institute for Research on Human Fertility and Infertility on April 6 to inaugurate a new laboratory.

Quoting a 2005 address by Pope Benedict XVI, Cardinal Parolin described the institute, which is located at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome, as “an eloquent example of that synthesis of truth and love which constitutes the vital center of Catholic culture.”

The prelate also praised the institute for helping couples conceive and bear children in a manner consistent with the dignity of women.
