Vatican Museums team with Rome hospital to encourage blood donors

April 06, 2016

The Vatican Museums have joined in a blood-donor drive, as an initiative for the Year of Mercy.

Noting that Pope Francis has encouraged blood donors, especially during the Jubilee Year, the Vatican Museums announced a joint offer with the Tor Vergata hospital in Rome. Anyone who donates blood at the hospital will receive a voucher for a €4 entrance ticket to the Vatican Museums (the ordinary admission price is €16.) Antonio Paolucci, the director of the Vatican Museums, said: "It is ia nice alliance between blood that generates and fuels life and art that gives us consolation and happiness."
